Alice by Temperley designs

Looking at Alice by Temperley designs will tell you so much about the fashion industry. The way their designs change will also tell you of the changes in the tastes and preferences of people in the world who love fashion. Fashion artists like Alice will not do so much were it not for the support that she has gained from her customers. It is through the feedback that her fashion clients leave that has led to all the changes you see in the market, and everything new she designs is better than the previous one. If a fashion artist is not ready to read the tastes and preferences of the people she or he is targeting in the market, then she/he will be doing all the design work in vain. Communicating to your clients will make you make all the necessary changes that will give you the popularity you always wanted, this is in regard to the many fashion artists who have not made it yet in the fashion industry because they could not understand the preferences of their target group.

Another thing that will keep the fashion designer in the industry is his or her talent. Look at the Alice by Temperley designs again for instance, and see how they have been skillfully brought out. It will take more than learning to do that, and this is all because of the talent that the designer has. Talent is a good thing and when it is exercised in order to earn money, there are more chances to succeed than when one is doing something else altogether. This is because you will always be happy doing what you like best and you will do all your best t impress others through your work.

Karen Millen

Founded in 1981, Karen Millen, along with Kevin Stanford, started it off by manufacturing and selling white t-shirts to their friends with just a starting capital of £100 which they obtained through a loan. They were later opened their first store in Kent in the year 1983 and established branches in Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Guildford and London. Following years of successful operations, it has globally expanded to some parts in Europe, Russia, Asia and Australia. In the year 2004, it was acquired by Mosaic Fashions. Unfortunately, five years after, Mosaic Fashions was forced to close shop. Hence, Karen Millen now operates under Aurora Fashions.

In 2006, Gemma Metheringham sat as creative director of the company where she had twelve designers under her wing who were supposed to work on the clothing and lingerie line. By March 2011, the company announced that it would be operating independently on its own, with Derek Lovelock leading the company, in collaboration with Gemma Metheringham and Steve Price.

Vivienne Westwood: The Grand Dame of Punk

Maybe it was the need for self-expression. Or maybe, it was just for commercialization’s purposes as she stated in an April 2011 interview. However, for whatever reason there may be, Vivienne Westwood is one of the revolutionary designers who will always be associated with the punk era. The styles she has introduced paved the way for alternative styles, especially for those who were in great need for self-expression.

Punk and its popularization
Although the name of Vivienne Westwood will be forever associated with the world of punk and punk fashion, the punk scene has always been there in the 70s. This was largely brought about by a sense of rebellion during the economic and sociopolitical conditions during those days. The punk scene was a youthful reaction to those struggling times that it somehow served as a statement for a lot of young people in those days. However, it was Westwood and her one-time partner Malcolm McClaren of the sex pistols who pushed the envelope further by opening their fashion shop called “SEX” that opened a venue for the popularization of this style. Ripped t-shirts and jeans as well as unkempt hairstyles, pretty much the opposite of the more conventional styles of those times, made its mark amongst many rock lovers.

Ankle straps

Ankle Straps or shoes have existed long into ancient times, and adapted by many ethnic communities all over the world. They were adapted from many designs of shoes both for the elite high class individual families and loyalties to the lower class. Straps date back to the actual origin of shoes as a means to fasten the shoe to the wearer so that it doesn’t come off when waling in battles, sports or when working in the fields.

As the shoes evolve to our current time, so are the designs of the straps. Ankle straps are ribbons or short belts wrapped around the ankle of the feet either once or several times. The straps can be for fashionable or as fasteners to hold the shoes in place. This is one of the designs which ladies are finding ideal to wear on outings and picnics or less restricted parties.
